The Ultimate Rx: Daylong training at Spirit Rock
Submitted by Lisa Dale Miller MFT on January 2, 2017 - 9:36am
On January 21, citizens in cities all across America will be marching to demand equality, respect, and collective empowerment: a powerful act of cutting through the delusion of self-cherishing. On that day I will be leading a daylong training at Spirit Rock (CEUs are available) focusing on the psychotherapeutic value and clinical methodology of cutting through the delusion of self-cherishing. To those who wanted to participate in this training and will be marching instead, know I will be with you in spirit.
The Ultimate Rx daylong integrates deep personal practice and effective clinical training for mental health professionals.
The morning session will focus on cultivating the skillful means of embodied presencing, attentive discrimination, and dialogic inquiry. These skills are critical for learning how to recognize and cut through distorted, hyper-egoic internal narratives of superiority or inferiority that exacerbate the symptoms of anxiety, depression and trauma, and drastically impede capacity to wisely, compassionately and more easefully participate in daily life.
The afternoon session will explore the theoretical underpinnings of this method outlined in the newly published, Handbook of Mindfulness: Society, context and social engagement, along with deepening individual and dyadic practice of embodied presence and effective dialogic inquiry.
I truly am looking forward to sharing this training with great excitement!
Registration can be accomplished on the Spirit Rock website.
For the non-clinicians among you and those unable to attend, I hope to see you at my experiential daylong on Intentional Presencing at Spirit Rock in late April.
