Care Providers Day: Coping with the Stress of Being a Care Provider
A Day of Renewal, Recognition, and Rejuvenation
Event Dates:June 3, 2017 - 9:30am - 4:30pm
Debilitating stress is a chronic challenge among care providers. This stress throws your life out of balance, diminishes your effectiveness, and can create a destructive cycle of self-criticism and despair. Mindfulness meditation is one of the skillful means that the Buddha taught that care providers can utilize to bring their lives back into balance.
In this daylong, we will explore how to apply mindfulness to meet the particular needs of the care provider. We will also discuss some of the other skillful means that the Buddha taught that can mitigate the stress of care providing.
You will learn the importance of placing attention, the art of letting go of expectations and attachments, how to determine what is yours and not yours to own in the way of responsibility, and how to recognize and respond to the confusion of mind that arises around care providing.
