Making Changes
At the start of a new year, an appropriate question is: how should we view the desire for change in the context of a mindfulness practice? Is this desire for change legitimate, or is this just another form of grasping? Are our motives for change wholesome or unwholesome? The Five Spiritual Faculties—faith, effort, mindfulness, concentration, and wisdom—come together to allow us to change in wholesome ways and to move into a more liberated place.
